When we go through a difficult time, we may wish with all our might for things to “go back to the way the
y were.” We may remember only the good parts of how our life used to be. But it’s just not possible to return to circumstances from our past. And if we keep looking backwards, we will miss the genuine goodness that is possible for our lives from here on. What if instead of looking back to how things were before, we decide to make our lives — from here on out — as wonderful as they can possibly be? Life only moves in one direction: forward. So, consider looking into your future and knowing that it is brighter than you may have been imagining.

Coping with Eczema in College
Here’s a sweet, intimate clip about a college student’s experience with eczema. What is most sweet about it perhaps is all of the comments this clip garnered from other young people struggling with eczema and searching for eczema cures.
One of the challenges about eczema is that every case seems to be unique. What works for one person’s skin may not work for someone else’s. When a successful eczema cream is found, it may not keep working forever. People sometimes need to use a few different eczema creams on rotation. Plus, skin and digestive allergies can play a big role. One thing that we’ve found to be true for almost all of our customers who have found Jeans Cream to be a successful eczema cream, is that they have committed to applying it regularly and consistently, rather than just trying it once and hoping for an overnight miracle. We also notice that those who have the best success healing their eczema are those who use the cream in conjunction with appropriate diet and lifestyle adjustments.
What Do You Need from Your Doctor?
If you’re struggling with skin issues like eczema or psoriasis, are working your way through a cancer diagnosis and treatment, or are living with diabetes, chances are you’ll need to select a good professional health care team. Remember that your doctors and nurses are some of the most important people you can have on your side right now. So it’s worth your time to spend a few minutes getting clear on what’s important to you in a physician.
The Mayo Clinic conducted research involving 192 patients and concluded that according to patient expectations, the ideal doctor is:
Confident
Empathetic
Humane
Personal
Forthright
Respectful
Thorough
Consider how these traits stack up for you. Which ones are priorities and which are less important? Is it necessary that your doctor listens well or would you feel more comfortable with someone who shares a wealth of information at every appointment? Do you want an oncologist who is aggressive about fighting cancer with the most up-to-date treatments, or someone who takes a more wholistic approach that works with the body’s natural pace of healing? Do you want someone whose opinion you can defer to, or do you need a doctor who encourages you to decide what’s best for you? These are really important things to know about yourself so that you can put together a health care team you trust.
Remember, your doctors always work for you. If you’re unhappy with the treatment or expertise you are getting, keep looking until you find a physician who’s a better match for your needs.
Bonus tip: If you have to see a specialist, make sure he or she is board certified. In the U.S., once physicians are licensed, they can claim to be specialists in any field, whether or not they’ve had specific training. Board certification means that the physician has had proper training in his or her stated field of expertise. Here are a few websites where you can look for qualifications on your doctor of choice: the American Board of Medical Specialties, HealthGrades.com, and Docfinder.

Sometimes Healing Comes Through Letting Go
As a practice this week, try to let go of the things you can’t control. Try releasing the outcome of whatever has you worried or fearful. If your life or your body need healing, sometimes the best way to help this happen is actually to let go.
Take a deep breath. Love yourself. Fix a cup of tea and rest. Allow Grace to enter your life and begin taking care of things on your behalf.
